Samsung Electronics-Egypt is set to add 10 new customer service centres to its network, expanding the number of its centres to 31 in total.

Khaled Nour El-Din, Head of Consumer Electronics Division at Samsung Electronics-Egypt, noted that is in accordance with the company’s priorities, whereby it targets the presence of one or more centres in each governorate.

Nour El-Din told Daily News Egypt that Samsung is relying on the development of the technology it presents to its clients. The company spends about $14.6bn annually on the R&D sector.

He further pointed out that the Egyptian Customs Authority’s decision to increase customs tariffs on a number of electrical appliances earlier this month will not affect the price of Samsung products in the local market.

He noted that the company has an agreement with local partners and agents to bear the cost difference resulting from the increase in customs tariffs, rather than burdening customers.

Samsung Electronics employs about 319,000 people in 84 countries around the world. The company records annual sales of approximately $196bn.
