Al-Sisi inaugurates housing, infrastructure projects across Egypt

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi inaugurated the 1.5m acres reclamation project Wednesday, which aims to increase Egypt’s actual agricultural land by 20% outside the Delta.

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi inaugurated Saturday a number of developmental projects, including housing, infrastructure and health projects, in different governorates across Egypt.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the premises of the new social housing project in 6th of October City, south-west of Cairo.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Minister of Defence Sedky Sobhy, former prime minister Ibrahim Mehleb, and many top army and state officials.

Al-Sisi attended presentations about the new projects; he also instructed officials to begin work on these projects.

He addressed head of the Armed Forces Engineering Corps Kamel Al-Wazeer, instructing him to speed up the repair of a runway at Cairo International Airport.

The president also commented on a crack that had appeared on a newly constructed bridge in Sohag governorate last week, asserting that “mistakes are not allowed” in such projects.

He instructed that the damages to the bridge be repaired within four weeks.

Al-Sisi added that upcoming projects should be reviewed by the Administrative Control Authority, the Military Technical College, and the Armed Forces Engineering Corps, in coordination with other state institutions before inauguration.

The projects Al-Sisi launched were conducted by the Armed Forces Engineering Corps, the main authority responsible for national projects since the 25 January Revolution.

Recently the corps supervised the implementation of the New Suez Canal project.
