The Paris hotel housing the German national football team has been evacuated due to a bomb threat. This came just hours before Germany is to take on France in a friendly match.
The national team was forced to leave its hotel shortly after 9 a.m. CET (0800UTC) on Friday after the bomb threat came through an anonymous telephone call.

“The hotel is being searched, this will be completed by around 14:30 (CET),” the SID news agency cited a police spokeswoman as saying.

The DFB’s (German FA) media director, Ralf Köttker, said Friday evening’s friendly in the Stade de France would go ahead as planned.

After being forced to leave the hotel, the team was moved to a sports center near the Roland Garros tennis stadum, which annually hosts the French Open.
