Notes from America: The mufti made me do it!

During his speech at the 37th Zionist Congress in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the biggest political blunder of his tenure. Netanyahu argued that “Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time”, but “wanted to expel the Jews”. And that Haj Amin Al-Husseini went to Hitler and said “If you expel them, they’ll all come here”.

According to Netanyahu, Hitler needed to be persuaded to exterminate the Jews and he really had no plans for the Holocaust. He had to ask the Palestinian mufti: “So what should I do with them?” And the Mufti responded “Burn them”, according to the prime minister.

Let this sink in for a while. So, after Israel got billions of dollars from Germany as a pay-off for the Holocaust, now the Palestinians and Muslims are behind it.  Now after the “never forget” mantra, and creating a new “Jew” who will never forget what Hitler has done to the Jews, now Netanyahu wants the Jew to forget and to rewrite history with a new narrative.

This history revisionism might be interpreted as the denial of Germany’s leading role in the Holocaust, and hence a German government spokesperson reiterated that Amin Al-Husseini was not behind the Final Solution. “The responsibility is ours,” he said. “There is no need to change the view on that.”

Of course, Netanyahu’s revisionism has nothing to do with actual history, and everything to do with the political demands of the present. By overplaying the role of an Arab cleric, he is trying to use the Jewish dead to undermine Palestinians, who have recently become locked in a deadly back and forth with Israelis on the streets of Jerusalem.

“The mufti did not speak to Hitler in terms of ‘you should do this’, or ‘what do you think of a final solution?’ Nor is it recorded that the mufti told Hitler to ‘burn them.’ Hitler never asked anyone what to do with the Jews,” Porat said. Even Zionist Union leader Isaac Herzog wrote on his Facebook page: “This is a dangerous historical distortion and I demand Netanyahu correct it immediately as it minimises the Holocaust, Nazism and…Hitler’s part in our people’s terrible disaster.”

With the claim that Palestinians or Muslims are the original sinners behind the Holocaust, Netanyahu has a problem. The reality of Israel and the occupied territories are diverse. Most Jews do not live in Israel. Many Israeli citizens aren’t Jewish. And many Palestinians aren’t Muslim. But demagoguery always requires summoning up a last apocalyptic battle, imaginary enemy and muster the big lie since historical facts is the least of Netanyahu’s concerns. So if Hitler needed a fatwa from a Mufti to exterminate the Jew, what about the other non-Aryan races, as well as members of some other persecuted groups, such as Gypsies and homosexuals.

The mufti made me do it, is another way of a long history of Nazification of Palestinians to create a permanent state of emergency that justifies the constant war with the Palestinians. If history is written by assassins, presence is written by revisionists who blame their evil works on somebody or an excuse like the mufti made me do it. Every evil has a mufti.  So Netanyahu didn’t attempt to kill the Palestinians, but his mufti made him do it.

Meanwhile, Obama didn’t really attempt to kill all these people in Afghanistan and Iraq with drones. According to a new report from The Intercept, nearly 90% of people killed in recent drone strikes in Afghanistan “were not the intended targets” of the attacks. Obama with his killing list, which it acts like a fatwa that determines who should die in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen Somalia using drones without any oversight or trial.

Al-Assad didn’t attempt to slaughter his own people in Syria, but his mufti (Iran, Hezbollah, Putin) made him to do it. Al-Sisi has been blaming the Brotherhood for everything wrong with Egypt, but he will find his own mufti that will justify his atrocities.  Al-Sisi didn’t attempt to massacre Egyptians at Rabaa and El-Nahda, his mufti made him do it. All acting like children not taking responsibility of their action, with the mufti made me do it! Mantra!
