The Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) has decided that Beyti Tropicana apple juice is safe for consumption, following tests on samples of the juice by the Ministry of Health, according to a statement by Beyti.

A review by the Industrial Control Authority (ICA) also confirmed that the sample tests did not contain any risks to the health of consumers; therefore Beyti is allowed to resume the juice’s production. It is believed that poor handling and storage, as well as high temperatures, led to the previous complaints against the product.

The CPA had decided to suspend production of the juice after Beyti had secretly pulled it from the market, following numerous complaints from consumers of a change in the product’s taste.

Managing Director of Beyti said the company teamed up with all entities in charge of assessing the product, the CPA, the ICA, and the General Directorate of Food Control affiliated to the Ministry of Health, so that all parties and consumers would be sure of the quality of all Beyti products.

He stressed that the company decided to halt production and circulation, as it is committed to product quality and maintaining the same standardised taste of the product, not because the products are harmful. He added that the company has adopted the Product Replacement Policy as an after-sales service, and this is what builds the consumers’ appreciation and respect for the company, regardless of the losses suffered by the company.

The managing director added that the production line of Beyti Tropicana apple juice is now operating normally, noting that the company is one of the largest dairy and juice producers in the Egyptian market.
