Abraaj Group signs partnership agreement with Egyptian education provider Tiba

Abraj Misr intends to list on the stock market by the start of 2016

The Emirati Abraaj Group signed a partnership agreement on Wednesday with Tiba Group, a leading provider of education services in Egypt, according to a statement by Abraaj Group.

The agreement was signed through Abraaj’s second generation North Africa Fund (ANAF II).

The partnership is part of Abraaj’s investment policy in the Middle East and North Africa, which seeks invest in promising sectors in Egypt like education. Tiba represents Abraaj’s second investment in the field of education.

Abraaj also announced it will establish an education management company to provide management support services to Abraaj’s educational institutions in Egypt.

“The management team of Abraaj and Tiba will focus on enhancing curricula, upgrading facilities and expanding partnerships with potential employers to increase job placements for students,” the statement read.

Tiba operates in Egypt through seven educational institutions that include three educational levels, serving nearly 20,000 students aged 3-18, and providing national as well as American and British curricula.

“Our collaboration with Tiba represents a unique partnership with Egypt’s leading education group,” said Ahmed Badreldin, Abraaj’s Regional Head in the Middle East and North Africa.

Abraaj played an important role in enhancing the growth and development of the direct investment sector in North Africa, beginning its investments in the region in 2007.

The group has three investments in Cairo, in the North Africa Hospital Holdings Group (NAHHG), OMS for professional IT consulting services and solutions provider, and Cairo Investment and Real Estate Development (CIRA).
