Alexandria’s first international squash tournament for women opened last Thursday, June 4, 2015 with an opening ceremony held at the historic Citadel of Qaitbay.

Organized by former Professional Squash Association player Amr Mansi, the Alexandria International Squash Open, taking place from June 4-10, welcomes top female squash players from all over the world. The matches are held in a custom-built court with stadium seating on the grounds of the stunning Biblioteca Alexandrina.

The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries of Alexandria and the Egyptian and global squash scene, including Governor Hany El-Messiry and the number-one ranked female squash player in the world, Nicol David from Malaysia.
