On Sunday, the Press Syndicate organised a commemorative event for poet Abdel Rahman El-Abnudi, in the presence of Minister of State for Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz,  Minister of Federal Affairs and Local Development General Adel Labib, poet Gamal Bekheet, Head of the Press Syndicate Yehia Qallash, journalists Gamal Fahmy and Helmy El-Nemnem, as well as members of the board of directors and a number of members of the General Assembly.

Event organiser Karem Mahmoud said that the event slogan, “Who consoles Egypt after my death”, was chosen to express Al-Abnudi’s journey as a homeland poet. Mahmoud confirmed that the poet would always take part in the syndicate’s events when asked to.

The event was hosted by Iman El Bahr Darwish.
