Tens of Morsi supporters staged a protest in front of the Russian embassy in Cairo on Monday morning.

The demonstration was part of multiple pro-Morsi protests which took place in front of other embassies around Cairo, according to Ibrahim Othman, a Muslim Brotherhood official in Giza.

Protesters held anti-military and pro- Morsi signs. “We are here to stage a peaceful protest to support the legitimacy of President Mohamed Morsi against the oppression of the tanks and the military” said Othman.

Mohamed Morsi was ousted on 3 July after mass protests around the country demanding his removal. He was succeeded for an interim period by Adly Mansour, who is the head of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
