Pasta is always a good option for those hungry and in a hurry. Pastaweesy, recently opened in Dokki, provides a solid fare of pasta, offering traditional dishes like bolognese and white sauce with chicken, and more exotic options like oriental sausage and liver.

We started our meal by sampling the white sauce pasta with mushrooms and the bolognese. The white sauce was delicious: not too buttery, with a healthy serving of mushrooms in the dish. The bolognese was deliciously aromatic and pleasantly filling.

The portion sizes are more than enough to satisfy one person; each of us found it hard to finish what we were served, and opted to save half to enjoy later.

Other items on the menu did not impress us as muc; the falafel wrap, at EGP 6, was a bit dry, and the French fries, at EGP 5.5, while not very crunchy were still edible.

Pastaweesy’s prices in general are quite reasonable; the Bolognese costs EGP 22.5, and the white sauce with mushroom is EGP 30.

Regretfully, we were too full to try a dessert; Pastaweesy offers rice pudding for a reasonable EGP 5.

Overall, the experience quite nice, and I recommend Pastaweesy as a good option when you long for some carbohydrates. Pastaweesy also offers its patrons a swift delivery service, so the next time you have a pasta craving you will not have to wait long for sustenance.
