The body was quickly transported to Al-Arish General Hospital, while a security team headed by General Sameh Ahmed Bashady, North Sinai security director, arrived at the scene. They were joined by the brigadier’s assistant and a team of investigators under the supervision of adviser Abdel Nasser Al Tayeb, the first attorney general of North Sinai Prosecutions and Criminal Investigations.

According to the source, the Brigadier was the shot in the head, and sustained additional wounds to the shoulder and torso, with his driver suffering light wounds.

Eyewitnesses also said that Apache helicopters have been patrolling the skies above Al-Arish to monitor the movements of the assailants.
