CAIRO: Amr Zaki is convinced that Zamalek have enough firepower to defeat Police Union in Wednesday’s Egyptian Premier League match.

The Whites were dealt a blow with the news that Zaki will take no part in the anticipated game through injury.

However, the robust marksman has faith in his fellow frontmen, saying they are capable of sealing a victory that would see Zamalek move two points clear on top.

"Police are an intimidating side for any team and considering the standings, the game is of the utmost importance," Zaki told FilGoal.com.

"Their defense is sturdy but I believe our strikers can break it and score to claim all three points."

Zamalek boss Hossam Hassan has only two fit hitmen at his disposal in Ahmed Gaafar and Abou Kone, who has recently recuperated from a shoulder injury.

Hassan might well field the duo in the match to ensure efficiency upfront.

Police, who secured their first-ever top-flight promotion in the summer of 2008, have only conceded four goals in the seven league games they have played so far this term.

Having notably improved over the past couple of years, the interior ministry outfit had their best start yet to a league campaign, with an unbeaten run that includes four victories and three draws.

Police are now on top of the league table with 15 points, one ahead of closest rivals Zamalek.
