CAIRO: Ahly have been fined LE 10,000 after their fans chanted offensive songs in Thursday’s victory over Mansoura that handed them the league title, the Egyptian FA announced on Sunday.

"The penalty was doubled because Ahly fans repeated the same action several times," the EFA said in a statement on their official website.

The Red Devils wrapped up a sixth consecutive league title, their 35th in history, after Osama Hosni’s second-half brace gave them an easy 3-0 win over relegated Mansoura at Cairo Stadium.

Hosni, who came on as a second-half substitute, struck the opener four minutes after the restart to spark wild celebrations from Ahly’s vociferous and die-hard fans.

They lifted banners to mock Zamalek and chanted offensive songs about their arch-rivals, who are likely to finish runners-up to Ahly.
