CAIRO: Arab Contractors striker Reda Al-Weeshi is proud that his opener against Olympic is ranked among the fastest 10 goals in the Egyptian Premier League history.

The combative frontman scored twice as Contractors defeated Olympic 3-1 on Friday.

He needed 42 seconds to open the scoring, capitalizing on the keeper s failure to handle Ahmed Abdul-Aziz s cross to head into an empty net at the far post.

I m proud that my name will be etched into the league s history books, Al-Weeshi told FilGoal.com on Saturday.

Claiming all three points was more important than my personal achievement, but I m still very happy with what I ve done.

Former Zamalek striker Ayman Younes registered the fastest goal in the league s history.

In Zamalek s game against Suez in the 1990/91 season, Younes scored 14 seconds after the kick-off.

Al-Weeshi has been a revelation since joining Contractors last summer after failing to establish himself as a regular first-team player at Ahly.

The 23-year-old is the Mountain Wolves top scorer with seven goals so far this season.
