CAIRO: Middlesbrough striker Ahmed “Mido Hossam considers Amr Zaki’s rapid success in the Premiership as an “unprecedented achievement.

Egyptian international Zaki took the league by storm after joining Wigan on a season-long loan from Zamalek in the summer.

He scored eight goals in his first 11 league games before being sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Zaki s instant impact in a competition of the Premiership s caliber is really fascinating, Mido told Al-Qahera Al-Youm show.

It’s not easy for any foreigner to adapt to the Premiership. It took many stars two or three years to settle in.

Mido has once again stressed that he enjoys a warm relationship with compatriot Zaki.

There are no problems whatsoever between me and Zaki. We hang out together whenever there is a chance.

Mido, who scored 19 goals in 49 appearances with Egypt, said he was optimistic over his future with the Pharaohs.

The 25-year-old has been playing for Egypt s senior team since 2001, but he was often criticized for failing to replicate his club form on the international level.

I have a chance to make an impact at the international stage as Egypt will play many important matches in the near future.

The 2010 World Cup qualifiers and the 2009 Confederations Cup will represent a good chance for me to impress, he added.
