CAIRO: A former parish councilor from Cheshire, England announced two days ago that she has married one of the sons of Osama bin Laden, The Guardian reported on Wednesday.

Describing the courtship as a “fairytale romance, she is now making plans for her husband to come from his native Saudi Arabia to join her in the UK.

Jane Felix-Browne, 51, announced that she had married Omar Osama bin Laden, 27, after the two had met and fallen in love in September, when bin Laden saw her horseback riding near the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

The two were married in Islamic ceremonies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia in April. Although she said that she expected some negative reactions to the marriage in the UK, she also expressed hope that her new husband, who works as a scrap metal dealer in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, would not be judged too harshly.

I married the man I fell in love with, she told The Guardian. I married a very quiet, a very kind man.

Bin Laden told Felix-Browne about his familial connection with the infamous Al-Qaeda leader three days after they met, but she claimed that it hadn’t changed her feelings about him.

She also told The Guardian that her new husband left Afghanistan before the September 11 terror attacks on the United States and last saw his father in 2000. She said he was as shocked as everyone else when the attacks occurred.
