Egypt ready to meet Palestine's needs of energy

Egypt s Petroleum Minister Sameh Fahmy received on Tuesday visiting Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority Omar Ketana.

During their meeting promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil and natural gas were discussed, along with ways of allowing the Palestinian side to benefit from Egypt s expertise in the natural gas domain.

During a meeting Fahmy highlighted his country s keenness on offering technical and economic support for the Palestinian Authority under the directives of President Hosni Mubarak.

Talks tackled means of supplying energy supplies to the Palestinian Authority within the coming period, said Fahmy asserting the oil sector preparedness to cater for Palestinian needs of energy, Arab News reported.

For his part, Ketana hailed the role played by Egypt in backing the Palestinian energy sector.
