Oryx acquires 30 pct of HC

CAIRO: Oryx Regional Private Equity Fund, based in Bahrain, acquired 30 percent of “HC Securities and Investment Company , HC announced late last week.

Oryx Regional Private Equity Fund is owned by the National Commercial Bank NCB, one of the largest banks in the Middle East. “The presence of Oryx Regional Private Equity Fund as a shareholder in HC is an opportunity for both entities to enlarge their common client base and to exchange different financial services. This partnership will have a positive impact on HC’s growth and on the regional expansion of its activities in the field of investment banking, asset management and securities brokerage , HC Chairman and Managing Director, Hussein Choucri said.

The agreement was signed by Ahli Capital CEO and Oryx representative, Ahmed Farid and HC Chairman and Managing Director, Hussein Choucri.

HC Securities and Investment is an Egyptian Joint Stock company, established in 1996. HC is active in the fields of investment banking, asset management, and securities brokerage in Egypt and the region. In partnership with Al-Futtaim Group in UAE, HC owns Al-Futtaim-HC, a securities brokerage company active in the UAE.
