73-year-old swimmer Nagwa Ghorab defies the odds

Egyptian swimmer Nagwa Ghorab, 73, won silver at the 2016 US Masters Swimming National Championship in the 70-74 years division representing Heliopolis Sporting Club (HSC). The championship was held in North Carolina.

Ghorab won the silver medal in the 50-yard backstroke. This was not the only victory she achieved at the championship, as she also came in fifth place in the 100-yard backstroke and sixth place in the 50-yard freestyle.

When it comes to water sports, including diving, swimming and water polo, HSC is among the most advanced clubs in Egypt.
