President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi is set to meet King Salman bin Abdul Aziz in Saudi Arabia on Sunday to conduct talks about the situation in Yemen and other threats to the region.

The deterioration of the situation in Yemen and the need to correct it in order to avoid negative effects on the security of the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea area are among the main topics on the agenda, reported state-owned newspaper Al-Ahram.

The president will pay special attention to communication and coordination between the two countries at all levels, due to the fierce attacks the Arab nation is suffering from, and the attempts by extremist groups to exploit internal disputes and the weakness in some countries, Al-Ahram said.

The visit also aims to promote the bilateral relations between the two countries in various political and economic fields.

The president’s visit to the kingdom is the first since King Salman bin Abdul Aziz ascended to power.
