Security forces discovered seven unexploded grenades inside a minibus outside a courthouse and security forces camp in Banha on Sunday, according to state-run Al-Ahram.

An unidentified man left the grenades, which were connected with wires, in a plastic bag on the minibus and then departed the bus saying he wanted to purchase a packet of cigarettes but never returned.

The driver of the bus, which was bound for Menufiya, discovered the plastic bag containing the explosives and notified the police. The bomb squad then diffused the explosives, according to Al-Ahram.

The courthouse and the security camp are thought to have been the intended targets, Al-Ahram reported.
