The president of the Egyptian holding company Egypt Air Tawfik Assi has announced that all the company’s international and local flights arrived at their destinations on schedule over the last two days and were not affected by political events in the region.

Assi stated that emergency measures were being taken in preparation for any possible circumstances that may prevent passengers, crew members or Egypt Air workers from reaching their destinations on time. This included stationing reserve crews in hotels near airports and staffing Egypt Air’s integration operations centre with additional employees.

Rushdi Zakaria, president of Egypt Air Airlines, announced that 259 international and local flights have and would be departing both yesterday and today from Cairo and other Egyptian airports. Yesterday 133 flights – 78 international and 55 local – departed Egypt, filled to an average of 67.5% capacity, while 126 were scheduled to leave today, 72 of which are international flights, and 54 domestic. Those planes leaving today were recorded as carrying an average capacity of 65%.
