Working groups formed as part of public consultations on “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development” have submitted their comments and proposals on the new economic reform plan, the Ministry of Planning announced.

The groups reviewed the narrative’s chapters and provided feedback on macroeconomic stability, investment and foreign trade, industrial development, and human development.

Minister of Planning Rania Al-Mashat said the ministry is currently studying the various proposals, which were submitted in line with the announced timeline.

“We continue to review all received comments and proposals,” Al-Mashat said in a statement. “We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in the organized national dialogue.”

She added that the public consultations were not limited to the organised working groups but also expanded through interactive community engagement via articles and opinion pieces written by experts, which she said enriched the discussion with constructive and valuable insights.

“Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience” serves as a comprehensive framework that integrates the government’s action programme, Egypt’s Vision 2030, and sectoral strategies. Its goal is to transition toward an economic model centred on reinforcing macroeconomic stability and focusing on the most productive and export-oriented sectors.

The narrative includes a set of structural economic and social reforms across various sectors, implemented by 25 entities according to specific timelines, to sustain economic reform, enhance macroeconomic stability, improve the business and investment climate, and accelerate the shift toward a green economy.

The ministry launched national dialogue sessions on the narrative in September, with the participation of a wide range of ministers, development partners, the private sector, and other stakeholders. The full document was made publicly available on the ministry’s website on Sept. 14.
