Egyptian Ambulance Organization has increased the fees of non-emergency call-outs between governorates.

The decision followed a meeting of the organisation’s board members held on Saturday, as they agreed on increasing the fees of some services including using Oxygen tanks.

The fees for non-emergency transportation between governorates is EGP 5 per km, and not to exceed EGP 5,000. For foreign patients, the fees will be increased by 25%. While the same service will cost EGP 125 per km within the same governorate, and the fee waiting is EGP 100

The organisation also approved a new increase in hiring fees of ambulances during high-level sports competitions to be EGP 1,500 for three hours, and EGP 500 for each additional hour. The same service will cost EGP 750 for three hours in low-level sports events, while it will cost EGP 25,000 in big concerts.

The fees for renting an oxygen tank will be EGP 2,700 per unit. The fees to refill the tank is EGP 100, with additional charges of EGP 50 in case of delay in returning the tank.

The organisation asserted that the transportation of emergency cases, premature babies, and patients between public hospitals will remain free of charge.
