Egypt launched a mobile application for real estate transactions on Tuesday to provide faster and easier services to citizens, a move unveiled by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly during the inauguration of a new Premium Tax Services Center in New Alamein City.
Developed to support the state’s efforts to simplify procedures and utilise digital solutions for tax services, the application also serves Egyptian expatriates in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Following the unveiling of the new tax centre, Madbouly stated that the state is committed to continuing the development of the tax system and transitioning towards consolidating a “customer service culture.” He noted that this approach aims to ease procedures for investors and citizens, stressing that the government is working diligently to create a more attractive business environment through additional tax incentives and facilities.
The prime minister added that the government is proceeding with its ongoing tax reforms to cement a partnership of trust with the business community and enhance cooperation between the state, investors, and taxpayers.
Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, who attended the launch, said the ministry’s approach is based on “facilitation and simplification” via an integrated electronic tax system. He explained that automating tax procedures aims to enhance voluntary compliance, attract new taxpayers, and raise investor satisfaction rates to encourage them to expand their production and export activities.
Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, echoed this strategy, stating that the authority seeks to widen the taxpayer base by building bridges of trust with the tax community. She emphasised that the authority is focused on all details to ensure a real difference in the level of service provided.
The event was also attended by Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom, Assistant Minister of Finance for Tax Policies and Development Ramy Youssef, and Chairman and Managing Director of e-finance Ibrahim Sarhan.
Khaled Abdel Ghani, CEO of e.tax, stated that the company is prepared to provide easier, more efficient, and faster electronic tax services through qualified teams offering flexibility and technical support. He described the premium tax centres as a qualitative shift in tax facilities, noting that the company will continuously measure partner feedback to ensure the ongoing development of service quality.
