As part of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family and the presidential initiative Decent Life, the National Council for Women (NCW) continues to implement a joint training programme combining the digital savings and lending groups “Tahwisha” with the “Dawar” awareness sessions. The four-day programme targeted facilitators from the governorates of Beni Suef, Assiut, and Fayoum, focusing on population, health, and violence against women.

Nashwa Mostafa, Acting Director of the Financial Inclusion programme at the NCW, underscored the importance of equipping facilitators with clear and effective messages delivered through the “Dawar” sessions. She emphasized that this training is essential to ensure meaningful communication with women in rural communities, noting the need to simplify information in line with local realities. Mostafa highlighted that the integration of community awareness with economic empowerment within savings and lending groups is a key factor in the project’s success, as it strengthens women’s capacities, supports family stability, and contributes to improving quality of life. She also announced plans to expand the training programme to all governorates.

The programme included a series of awareness sessions addressing family planning, safe motherhood, proper nutrition, and the dangers of female circumcision. Population and health issues were discussed from both medical and religious perspectives. In addition, facilitators received training in effective communication skills to enhance their ability to convey awareness messages and foster a culture of informed decision-making within local communities.

The training featured contributions from Sheikh Mohamed Abdel-Aal Al-Doumi and Father Boula Fouad Riad, who emphasized the importance of a unified and balanced discourse in raising community awareness and promoting shared social responsibility.
