Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met executives from Curagita Group and ACH on Tuesday to discuss investment opportunities and cooperation in the healthcare sector, with a particular focus on upgrading the radiology department at the Nile Medical City project, the health ministry said in a statement.
Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting reviewed existing frameworks of cooperation and future plans, alongside presentations on the two groups’ key healthcare projects aimed at strengthening partnerships and improving Egypt’s health system.
Discussions covered a strategic plan to develop the radiology department into a leading unit by setting new service standards, as well as requirements related to equipment, infrastructure, financial considerations, and supporting systems, according to the statement. Officials also reviewed the current setup and future vision, including expected beneficiary volumes, departments, and the types of devices planned for operation.
The meeting included a detailed inventory of imaging devices across the existing building, the oncology building, and the new outpatient clinics building, covering device types, manufacturers, models, and serial numbers. A proposed work plan was also presented, focusing on workforce development, patient-flow optimisation, infrastructure upgrades, and the integration of modern technologies.
The statement added that the parties discussed redesigning patient pathways, architectural planning to create an optimal care environment, technology integration, an implementation roadmap, future opportunities, and proposed partnership terms, including training programmes for medical and technical staff specialising in radiology.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed the importance of a long-term implementation plan that accounts for future needs and ensures sustainable service quality and efficient patient flow, the ministry said.
