FM Shoukry discusses with OIC Secretary General preparations for meeting of OIC foreign ministers

Egypt’s Minister of  Foreign Affaires  Sameh Shoukry received On Sunday, a telephone call from” Hussein Ibrahim Taha”, secretary general of the organization of Islamic Cooperation(OIC), as part of the ongoing preparations for the meeting of the organization’s foreign ministers to be held in Nouakchott (Mauritania) in March 2023.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesman for the Ministry of foreign affairs, said that during the call, Minister Shoukry stressed Egypt’s keenness to actively participate in all the activities of the organization in a way that contributes to maximizing its role to face the challenges witnessed by the Islamic world, especially the phenomenon of Islamophobia.

The two sides also discussed the most prominent regional developments and the crises witnessed by many countries, stressing the importance of facing such challenges that require concerted efforts to enhance the security and stability of the Islamic world.
