Hundreds of paper industry firms from more than 20 countries have gathered in the Egyptian capital Cairo to showcase their products and technologies in the 14th Paper Middle East Exhibition.

The three-day exhibition, which kicked off on Saturday, displays products and machinery from sectors including paper, board, carton, tissue, printing and packaging.

The exhibition is an excellent opportunity to look for business opportunities and an important platform to have contacts with senior business executives from the Middle East region and beyond, said Ibrahim Maghrabi, a manager with the Egyptian packaging company Perfect Plast.

“Such events improve our corporate image in the region and help us meet all key market players. Companies around the world have already taken notice of the growth in the Middle East’s paper industry and come to invest and cooperate with local and regional companies,” Maghrabi said.

Jin Heidi, a business representative from Chinese paper equipment manufacturer Qinyang Haozheng Machinery Company, said the fair was important to her company as it helped her find business partners in the Middle East.
