The General Coordinator of the National Political Dialogue (NPD) Diaa Rashwan has announced that the NPD’s board of trustees will hold its third meeting on Saturday at the headquarters of the National Training Academy.

The board is scheduled to discuss the formation of sub-committees on economic and social areas. The meeting will also witness finalizing Article 18 of the regulations governing the board and the sub-committees.

In the first meeting on 5 July, the board agreed on bylaws as well as the dialogue’s 25-article code of conduct and ethics.

During the second meeting on 19 July, the board agreed on the formation of three sub-committees under the political track – local councils committee, human rights and public liberties committee, and the party and electoral system and parliamentary institutions committee.

Rashwan said the board of trustees will issue, upon the conclusion of its meeting, a statement, explaining the decisions and procedures it has reached regarding the activities of the national dialogue.

The board of trustees is trying to organize a very effective method for sub-committees that end up with proposals and legislation that will be submitted to the President of the Republic, the House of Representatives, and the Senate to be approved.
