22.2% increase in Egypt’s exports to country groupings in 2021: CAPMAS

Total value of Egypt’s exports to country groupings, in which Egypt holds their membership, reached $35.4bn in 2021 versus $28.9bn in 2020, an increase of 22.2%.

Egypt’s exports to the Arab Free Trade Area came in the first rank with value of $10.7bn in 2021 versus 10.1bn in 2020, an increase rate by 6.1%, followed by ESCWA gathering with value of exports that reached $8.4bn in 2021 versus $8.1bn in 2020, an increase of 3.5%.

COMESA came in last place, as the value of exports reached $3.1bn in 2021 versus $2.3bn in 2020, an increase of 30.9%.

Total value of Egypt imports from country groupings, in which Egypt holds their membership, reached $37.5bn in 2021 versus $30.1bn in 2020, an increase of 24.7%.

Egypt imports from the Arab Free Trade Area came in the first rank with a value of $13.3bn in 2021 versus $9.4bn in 2020, an increase by 41.9%.

Then, the Group of Fifteen as the total value of imports reached $9.7bn in 2021 versus $8.4bn in 2020, an increase of 15.1%.

The Community of Coast and Desert Group came in last place, as the value of imports reached $1.0bn in 2021 versus $0.8bn in 2020, an increase by 28.1%.

Meanwhile, the total value of Egypt’s exports to country groupings, which Egypt is not part of, reached $20.0bn in 2021 versus $11.3bn in 2020, an increase of 76.9%.

Egypt exports to the European Union came in the first rank with value of $14.6bn in 2021 versus $7.8bn in 2020, an increase by 85.9%, followed by NAFTA association as the total value of exports reached $3.4bn in 2021 versus $2.4bn in 2020, an increase by 44.4%.

EFTA association came in last place as the total value of exports reached $51.6m in 2021 versus $151.1m in 2020, a decrease by 65.9%.

Total value of Egypt’s imports from country groupings, which Egypt is not part of, reached $38.1bn in 2021 versus $33.3bn in 2020, an increase of 14.2%.

Egypt imports from the European Union came in the first rank with value of $21.3bn in 2021 versus $19.2bn in 2020, an increase by 10.8 %, followed by NAFTA association as the total value of imports reached 6.6bn in 2021 versus 5.4bn in 2020, an increase by 21.0 %.

EFTA association came in last place as the total value of imports reached $1.4bn in 2021 versus $1.3bn in 2020, an increase of 2.8%.
