Arab league secretary general in Spain to support forum on Arab-Spanish relations

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab league, headed to Madrid on Monday to sponsor the first session of a forum on Arab-Spanish relations through digital media, which will be held in the Spanish capital,

The forum is organized by the Spanish Radio and Television Authority. It will include Jose Manuel Perez, the president of the authority, and Mikel Iseta, Minister of Culture and Sports of Spain.

A statement issued by the Arab League said: “This forum is a good opportunity for Arab and Spanish media institutions to exchange experiences and views and build bridges of cooperation between the two sides, due to the participation of a large number of heads of radio and television organizations in various Arab countries and Arab media institutions as well.”

The statement also pointed out that “the sessions of the forum address a number of topics, most notably the importance of digital media in cultural exchange and how to develop institutional cooperation relations in the media field between the Arab and Spanish sides, and develop a future plan to activate the mechanisms of this cooperation.”

During the visit, Aboul Gheit is scheduled to meet with King Felipe VI of Spain, as well as Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares, to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.
