The interactive application of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority — My NTRA — was chosen as one of the five best projects in the world in the field of digital governance.

This is after it received the highest voter turnout at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum of the International Telecommunication Union among 966 submitted projects.

The forum is being held from 15 March 2022 to 3 June 2022, with the participation of more than 2,500 specialists and experts from 193 countries.

The WSIS is the world’s largest annual gathering of the information and communication society, providing a platform for cooperation and information exchange between various international bodies and institutions to maximise the use of information and communication technology as the driving force for achieving sustainable development goals and digital transformation.

MY NTRA’s victory in the forum was based on several criteria, the most important of which are its compliance with the standards of e-government around the world and its support for the process of digital transformation and facilitating access to services electronically as an alternative to traditional methods.

This is in addition to promoting innovation and creativity and the diversification of its services between individuals and companies along with providing services to several social groups such as youths, the elderly, people of determination, and users of telecom services in urban and rural areas alike, which contributes to the dissemination of digital telecommunication services throughout the country.

At the end of last year, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority launched its My NTRA interactive application, which is one of the world’s leading applications in terms of the number and integration of services provided to the end user, and the number of downloads of the application has so far reached 2.3m.

The launch of the application comes in line with the state’s policy towards achieving digital transformation, as it is considered one of the world’s leading applications in terms of the number and integration of services provided to the end user.
