Libyan authorities have arrested 21 illegal Egyptian migrants who had been hiding in a ditch and had not eaten for days after smugglers abandoned them.

The authorities found the young Egyptians in the area of laffrin, south of the city of Bir al-Ashhab, where they plan to deport them to Egypt after the end of legal proceedings.

Despite the Egyptian authorities warning against illegal immigration and not to travel to Libya, some young people continue to try to migrate illegally to Europe through Libya and by Egyptian and Libyan smugglers, exposing them to death by drowning or kidnapping by gangs and armed militias demanding a ransom in exchange for their release.

A few days ago, about 13 young men disappeared from the village of Met Al-Karma of the city of Talkha in the governorate of Dakahlia, where contact with their relatives was cut off in Egypt, while the kidnappers asked for a ransom exceeding 8 thousand dollars for each young man and then fell to about 5 thousand dollars.
