PM Madbouly inspects cultural activities in Aswan

Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed a report prepared by Minister of Culture, Enas Abdel Dayem, on the cultural activities that were implemented in Aswan governorate on 3-4 December.

The minister indicated that within the framework of the Ministry of Culture’s plan to implement cultural and artistic activities to reach the cultural content of all segments of Egyptian society, the ministry is working diligently to accomplish the largest number of cultural projects, especially in the governorates.

The minister said that she visited Aswan and laid the foundation stone for the Egyptian Public Library in Aswan, to be established on an area of ​​3,247 square metres, and is planned to include a multi-purpose meeting room, as well as a multi-storey garage.

During the visit, the Minister attended the conclusion of the 26th Aswan International Symposium for Sculpture, which is organized by the Cultural Development Fund in cooperation with the Aswan Governorate, Russia, Brazil, Ireland and Belgium, and 4 artists from Egypt), in addition to the accompanying 8 young artists, who had a wonderful and different representation this year in the field of sculpture, and women represented the largest segment of them.

The report indicated that the minister inspected the works of the artists participating in the “Symposium” and handed them certificates of appreciation and the shield of Aswan Governorate, and concluded the events with an artistic performance by the Aswan Folklore Troupe, which presented a number of dances expressing southern folklore.

She also inaugurated the Al-Salam Cultural District Library in the Service Complex in the Urgent Accommodation Area for the Flood Victims in the Al-Salam District in Wadi Al-Allaqi, in the presence of the Governor of Aswan, Major General Ashraf Attia, the artist Hisham Atwa, head of the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, Fathi Abdel Wahab, head of the Cultural Development Fund, and a number of popular and executive leaders in the province.

The report indicated that the minister of Culture delivered a speech during the inauguration of the library, in which she confirmed that the library is a window of knowledge that contributes through its various services to spreading enlightenment, and developing awareness. .

The report included noting that the Minister of Culture inaugurated a talent development center in the Al-Salam neighborhood library, stressing that the extension of the system of talent development centers to southern Egypt comes within the strategy of discovering and supporting promising, and refining their skills in embodiment of the principle of cultural justice.

Within the framework of the tour, the report indicated that the Minister of Culture and the Governor of Aswan inaugurated an exhibition of plastic art by artist Ashraf Abul-Magd, and announced the opening of the door for participation, on an exceptional basis, for the project “Start Your Dream” for the people of the neighborhood of Salam area in Aswan.
