The Arab League condemned, on Sunday, in the strongest terms, the bloody crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the governorates of Jerusalem and Jenin.

This resulted in five martyrs and a number of wounded and detainees, as the occupation authorities continue to escalate their practices, violations and crimes against the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites.

The Arab League said that this condemned crime is added to the series of crimes committed by the occupation, including displacement and ethnic cleansing, and the destruction and confiscation of homes and property.

It added that this confirms the persistence of the occupation authorities in carrying out their racist plans and projects, which constitute a grave violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.

This confirms the need to provide the necessary international protection mechanisms for the Palestinian people which have been approved by international legitimacy, on the way to ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their rights and embodying their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The General Secretariat of the Arab League called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop these crimes, put an end to the continuous and escalating Israeli aggression, and work effectively and quickly to enforce the decisions of the international community and protect international law.

The Arab League held the occupation authorities and the Israeli government responsible for these crimes and practices, which portend grave consequences that threaten international security and stability, and call for accountability and international criminal prosecution.

The League affirms its support for the struggle and steadfastness of the Palestinian people, which will not be affected by the crimes of the occupation, but rather increase their determination to achieve their freedom and independence.
