HDB wins ‘Fastest Growing Commercial Bank’, ‘Fastest Growing Credit Card Issuer’ awards from Global Brands

The Housing and Development Bank (HDB) has been awarded “Fastest Growing Commercial Bank” and “Fastest Growing Credit Card Issuer”, from Global Brands Magazine.
The magazine awards aim to highlight institutions and brands around the world that offer an outstanding level of performance and innovation.
These awards are granted according to several specialised technical criteria, according to the evaluation of elite experts in all fields.
Hassan Ghanem, Chairperson and Managing Director at HDB, expressed his happiness with this global honour, which comes as a culmination of the continuous efforts undertaken by the bank during the last period and its implementation of an ambitious strategy to become one of the largest commercial banks in Egypt.
He explained that the previous period witnessed a remarkable development in the provision of all banking services and products with high competitiveness, especially digital products. HDB strives to continuously update its services, to suit the needs of all customer segments. The bank also achieved distinct growth rates despite the coronavirus pandemic.
HDB always believes in the importance of expanding the use of electronic payments, in line with the policy of the Central Bank of Egypt. Accordingly, the bank provides various electronic services to its customers, such as internet banking, mobile banking and e-wallet.
In the previous period, the bank also witnessed an expansion and an increase in the rate of issuance and use of cards, in addition to signing a long-term partnership agreement with the International MasterCard to stimulate the use of electronic payments, in addition to prepaid cards, especially the Meeza card.
It is noteworthy that the bank’s plan for geographical expansion to deploy ATMs nationwide in line with the Central Bank of Egypt initiative has achieved outstanding results. HDB has achieved an increase in ATMs by 30% in 2020.
