Egypt expresses condolences to Lebanon over Akkar explosion

Egypt has expressed its sincere condolences to the brotherly Lebanese people over the explosion that occurred on Sunday morning in Akkar governorate, which killed and injured dozens of civilians.

Egypt affirmed its full support for the Lebanese state and the families of the victims in this painful affliction. 

It called for the formation of a Lebanese government as soon as possible, according to the Taif Agreement, in order to end the current political vacuum.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for urgent medical aid that Egypt will send to Lebanon.

A fuel tank exploded in the town of Al-Talil, Akkar governorate, north Lebanon, killing 28 people, and wounding at least 80 others.
