The Korean Cultural Center in Cairo wrapped up the final round of the “Quiz on Korea” cultural competition on Wednesday.

Fourteen contestants, who qualified from the preliminary round, took part in the event amid strict precautionary measures to maintain public safety.

After three hours of questions, Sarah Bakr Ahmed, a dentist, won first place. Maryam Mamdouh Abdul Rahman won second place, while Nasma Taher Abdul Alim Mohammed and Nasma Rifai together came in third.

The competition aims to test Egyptian youth’s information about South Korea in various fields, including history, economy, language, and culture, while at the same time supporting Korean culture enthusiasts.

Oh Sung-ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, expressed his happiness at the resumption of in-person events at the Center after a long period of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He stressed that the Center always welcomes those interested in the Korean culture who in fact serve as “bridges” to promote cultural exchange between Egypt and South Korea.

After honoring the top three winners, Oh Sung-ho delivered prizes to all participants of the competition, some of whom presented artistic shows that demonstrated their passion for the Korean culture.
