She explained that the medical insurance plan during the coming holidays includes providing 2,190 equipped ambulances on roads, highways, and main squares nationwide.

The plan ensures the availability of sufficient stocks of medicines, medical, as well as preventive supplies in all hospitals. This is in addition to the availability of adequate stocks of blood and its derivatives in all blood centres and banks affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population.

The ministry said, in a statement, that Egypt’s blood centres have about 94,000 blood bags of different groups, in addition to 17,000 plasma bags.

As part of its plan to prepare for the Eid Al-Fitr holidays, the Ministry of Health and Population seized and destroyed 223 tonnes of various food and drink items which were deemed unfit for human consumption.
