AnitaB.org, the global non-profit organization focused on intersectional gender and pay parity in tech, announced today that they will bring the world-renowned gathering of women technologists, Grace Hopper Celebration, to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for the very first time!  The event will take place on May 25-27, 2021.

With over 3,000 women expected to attend, vGHC EMEA will provide an inspiring and supportive environment of like-minded peers, mentors, and role models. Much like the signature Grace Hopper Celebration, vGHC EMEA will feature keynotes, dozens of sessions and workshops, and a Sponsor Hall. We will be revealing details about the speakers and sessions over the next weeks. vGHC EMEA aims to empower, elevate, educate, and connect women in tech.

“We are thrilled to further expand the reach of AnitaB.org’s Grace Hopper Celebration to our growing network in EMEA,” said AnitaB.org President and CEO Brenda Darden Wilkerson. “Our top priority is to support all women technologists and achieve intersectional gender and pay parity in tech. Reaching and supporting new members over the world strengthens the power of our community and builds a world of inclusive technology.”

Grace Hopper Celebration

In 1994, Anita and Dr. Telle Whitney co-founded the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC), which has grown to become the world’s largest annual gathering of women technologists.

In 2020, faced with the realities of Covid-19, AnitaB.org held the first ever Virtual Grace Hopper Celebration, attracting more than 30,000 virtual attendees from over 115+ countries around the world with 2 keynote speakers: Serena Williams and Megan Rapinoe.

Earlier this year, AnitaB.org also hosted Virtual GHC India, gathering more than 5,000 attendees from all over India.

In addition to our new EMEA Celebration, we are delighted to announce that our acclaimed Virtual Grace Hopper Celebration will take place September 26-29, 2021.

This year: First Virtual Grace Hopper Celebration EMEA

With the goal to uplift and celebrate the diversity and power of all women technology leaders worldwide, AnitaB.org is thrilled to bring the legacy of GHC to the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, across all racial, tribal, ethnic, gender identity, religious, and underrepresented groups in the tech field. The Celebration’s goal is to provide support, career development tools, and technical training to excel in the workforce, while also equipping women in tech with access to potential employers.

This Celebration will inspire a new network of advocates and allies with whom we can work year-round to strengthen the capacity of the entire corporate, educational and governmental technology ecosystem necessary for the success of EMEA women technologists.
