Sonaa Elkhair Foundation dispatches aid convoy to Red Sea's Halayeb and Shalateen

The Sonaa Elkhair Foundation dispatched a medical and humanitarian aid convoy, on Tuesday, to the Halayeb and Shalateen triangle of Egypt’s Red Sea governorate.

The convoy took place in cooperation with the Decent Life Foundation, the United Bank, and CSR Egypt.

Mostafa Zamzam, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the Sonaa ElKheir Foundation, said that the convoy provided medical services aiming to limit paediatric cases of blindness, anaemia, and diabetes. The convoy will also conduct medical gastroenterology, dermatology, and eye check-ups for all residents, and provide the necessary treatment.

The convoy comes as part of the “Hemaya” initiative, which falls under the auspices of Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El-Kabbaj, and was sent to help people during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Besides providing medical services, the convoy is also offering humanitarian aid and food. Around 1,000 food packages were distributed, each containing 16 kg of basic food and nutritional items, along with COVID-19 protection kits.

The “Hemaya” initiative aims to provide social protection and necessary support to the underprivileged across Egypt, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
