A variety of shows will take place across Egypt as part of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha holidays as of 31 July.

The Artistic House for Folk and Performing Arts, affiliated to the Cultural Production Affairs Sector, headed by Khaled Galal, will present two shows at the National Circus during the Eid Al-Adha holidays.

The shows will commence from the second day of the public holiday, in addition to a concert at the Mohamed Abdel Wahab Theater in Alexandria.

The National Circus, headed by Walid Taha, will present shows at its main Agouza set, at 17:30 and 20:00. This is in addition to a concert at 21:00 at Alexandria’s Mohamed Abdel Wahab Theater.

The theatrical show, Artist of the People, will be performed, presenting the life story of one of Egypt’s most famous musicians and the composer of the national anthem, Sayed Darwish.

The Mohamed Abdel Wahab Theater will also present another theatrical show, Anna Al-Aris (“I am the groom”), will be presented by Amal Ramzi, Mamdouh Darwish, Chico, Jamal Hijazi and Fathi Saad, and directed by Amin Youssef.

Mostafa Mohsen, Director of the Mohamed Abdel Wahab Theater, said that the venue will stage shows by the National Folklore Band on the second day of Eid Al-Adha. The Reda Band will present its own performance on the third day of the holiday, with the play Alice in Wonderland set to be staged from the fourth day of Eid Al-Adha until 17 August.

The programme presented by the National Circus includes over 13 diverse shows featuring an array of dazzling circus arts, under the supervision of Mohamed El-Noby and Ashraf Shaaban.

All the precautionary measures in relation to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic will be strictly applied at all shows and performances. This includes only 25% of the venues’ total capacity to be allowed.
