The national committee to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) has decided to continue the night time curfew, albeit from 8pm to 4am from Sunday.

The announcement was made by Minister of Information Osama Heikal on Wednesday who added that no traffic will be allowed from 8pm.

In a press conference following the committee’s meeting, Heikal added that the committee has also decided that parks and gardens will remain closed until the end of June.

Tourism and aviation will resume from the beginning of July in the governorates that have been less affected by the coronavirus.

Shops will also be allowed to extend their work hours, and will remain open until 6pm, seven days a week.

Mosques and churches in the least affected governorates will be reopened at the beginning of July.

Heikal said that the plan for Egypt’s gradual resumption of activities comes in light of the latest health developments, and this plan has sufficient flexibility according to the medical situation.
