Kuwait reports 24-hour high of 1,065 COVID-19 cases

Kuwait on Sunday reported 1,065 new cases of COVID-19 and nine more deaths, bringing the total infections in the country to 8,688 and the death toll to 58, the health ministry said in a statement.
Currently, 5,901 patients are receiving treatment, including 114 in ICU, according to the statement.
In addition, the ministry announced the recovery of 107 patients from the coronavirus, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 2,729.
The Kuwaiti government announced late Friday a full curfew in the country for three weeks to curb the rapid rise in coronavirus cases.
On March 13, Kuwait suspended all commercial flights. The government also closed stores, malls and barbershops in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.
