2,188 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Turkey, 122,392 in total

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca on Friday confirmed 2,188 new COVID-19 cases and 84 more deaths in Turkey.

The total number of confirmed cases in the country has climbed to 122,392, while the death toll surged to 3,258, the minister tweeted. Turkey conducted 41,431 tests for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests carried out to 1,075,048, he added. In addition, 53,808 patients have recovered from COVID-19, while 1,480 are being treated at intensive care units and 818 are intubated, the minister said.

“Those who recovered in the last 24 hours are 2.25 times of the newly diagnosed patients. Total healing number is 53,000. This number is close to 45 percent of the total number of cases to date.
