Chinese companies account for largest mid-range smartphone market share

Chinese companies acquired the largest market share in world mid-range smartphone category, whose prices range from $400 to $600, and account for 40% of total smartphone market.

According to a report by Counterpoint, (which provides reports on the global smartphone and tech industry with detailed analysis materials), Chinese companies gained 42% of mid-range smartphone sales in the second quarter (Q2) of this year.

Oppo led Chinese top selling smartphone companies, with a market share of 22% of mid-range smartphone sales, whose prices range from $400 to $600.

Huawei came second in terms of Chinese companies’ market share of 14% in this category, followed by Xiaomi with a 6% market share.

Meanwhile, Apple controlled sales of high-range smartphone, whose prices exceed $800, with a market share of 88%.

Apple and Samsung split the dominance over smartphone sales, whose prices range from $600 to $800, with market share of 41% to Samsung and 44% to Apple.
