CAIRO: In a meeting with Prime Minister Essam Sharaf on Sunday, Egypt’s Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa said that Dar Al-Iftaa is keen on spreading a moderate religious ideology in Egypt and the world, especially during this crucial time.
Gomaa also said during the meeting that took place at Dar Al-Ifta that security and stability are the two main pillars in Egypt’s future.
The Grand Mufti highlighted the importance of cooperation and unity among Egyptians, as well as the importance of the active participation in the civil society to cater to the needs of the underprivileged.
Gomaa called for focusing on eradicating problems plaguing the country including illiteracy, poverty and disease, but said this can only be achieved through cooperation between civil society and the government.
On his part, Sharaf said he was keen on visiting Gomaa to praise the role he, as well as Dar Al-Ifta, have been playing in spreading a moderate ideology.
