Number of Turkish tourists to Egypt up 37.5 pct

The number of Turkish tourists, who visited Egypt, increased 37.5 percent to 64,000 in 2010 when compared to 2009, reported Al-Masry Al- Youm.

Egypt’s Turkey Tourism Office stated on Thursday that 15 million tourists visited Egypt in 2010 which was 17.5 percent higher than 2009. Egyptian Tourism Consul in Turkey Nehad Gamal Eldin said that they targeted to increase the number of Turkish tourists visiting Egypt to 75,000.

Noting that reaching Turkish market was one of Egypt’s main goals, Eldin said that they spent more than one million USD for promotion of Egypt in Turkey, the paper reported.
