ISMAILIA: Ismaili goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi rejected a new contract from the Dervishes as he opted to consider options available in the winter break.

Ismaili said on their official site that a meeting between manager Emad Soliman and director Ihab Galal with Sobhi turned unsuccessful despite the lucrative offer.

Sobhi s current contract with Ismaili runs out by the end of the season.

The junior Egypt international s decision intensifies speculation linking him with a move to Ahly, who are looking for a goalkeeper amid Amir Abdel-Hamid s imminent exit.

Sobhi has been playing second-fiddle with the Dervishes since the arrival of veteran Essam Al-Hadari in the summer.
